Airport renaming: We won’t be influenced by the loudest voices‚ says Acsa

Airports Company South Africa said on Tuesday that the renaming process of Cape Town International Airport was on track‚ despite disruptions on Monday night at a public consultation meeting.

“Airports Company South Africa wishes to emphasise that the public consultation session on airport renaming held at Cape Town International Airport on Monday evening was ultimately properly concluded in spite of demonstrations that disrupted proceedings for a period‚” the company said in a statement.

Kanye West Sampled This 1970s Kenyan Record On ‘Ye’

The two Kenyan artists had no idea their music had been used in Ye album track, “Yikes.”

Kanye West released his latest albumYe, last Friday following a seemingly-unending and highly controversial build-up which culminated at a listening party session in Wyoming.

A close look at the album credits reveals that its second track, “Yikes,” contains the use of lyrics and composition from Kenyan artists Ayub Ogada and James Mbarack Achieng.

South African rapper Reason is working on his sixth studio album called Azania, a follow-up to last year’s Love Girls.

The album’s first single just came out and it features legendary jazz artist Sibongile Khumalo and Swizz Beatz who also produced the song.

Lyrically “Azania” is intense, which is what we’ve grown to expect from the lyricist. Reason talks about poverty, unemployment and all ills and how rappers choose to ignore all that.
